COMPLETE APPEARANCE:
Nikko stands at the maximum for his breed's height, and weighs just enough to ensure he's getting the proper amount of caloric intake. This gives him a very tall, very lanky appearance, with very long limbs. He has a large chest to hold his lungs and heart and keep him from getting too tired. His ears stand tall at the top of his wedge-shaped head. Nikko's fur is thin and wiry, and about mid-length. It's shaggy and not very well-kept, which suits him just fine. Just like his ears and legs, he has a long, thin tail that is in constant motion. While he doesn't have very thick, obvious muscles, he definitely has runner's muscles - thin and wiry, elastic and just as effective at what he does best.
Nikko is colored in an 'Irish' pattern, with the majority of his colors being a reddish hue. White wraps itself around his neck, face, and chest, morphing into the red. It also colors each of his four paws and about half of his tail. There are white strands throughout Nikko's coat, giving him an elderly look despite the fact that he's so young. His eyes almost look like a goldish hue, and can be quite captivating and full of interest and intrigue. They do darken a bit when he gets angered, but otherwise, his eyes are pretty consistently the same.

PERSONALITY:
TRAITS: Loud. Obnoxious. Stupid. Insightful. Idealistic. Optimistic. Determined. Stubborn. Emotional. Heroic. Brash. Competitive. Lonely.
COMPLETE PERSONALITY:
When you first meet Nikko, he's loud. Nikko tends to like to yell everything. He feels like this will somehow make more of an impression than if he were to simply speak quietly. When Nikko is passionate about something, he becomes even louder, yelling his thoughts and feelings to the world, exclaiming them with little regard to the ears of those surrounding him. This also makes Nikko seem rather obnoxious. He seems to have very little care to what others think of him, and yet also comes across as someone who desires nothing more than acknowledgement from his fellow canids.
This boisterous, loud behavior can make Nikko appear very stupid or oblivious. And truthfully, he really is. Nikko tends to miss the obvious, looking over the larger picture pretty much entirely. He lacks the ability to understand the dynamics of conversation, and, rather irritatingly, doesn't understand when someone doesn't want him around. Or perhaps a better phrasing would be... He knows when he's unwanted, but it only makes him more determined to be wanted. Despite this, however, Nikko is oddly insightful; meaning, while he overlooks the bigger picture - and often even details that should be obvious - he focuses on very minor, abstract ideals that others often ignore.
This leads to Nikko's idealistic and optimistic tendencies. In his mind's eye, the glass is completely full; it's just water sharing space with air. Despite being an oblivious loud-mouth, this young canine works very hard to make sure he always sees the silver lining in even the worst of situations. He believes there is always a solution to problems; sometimes they just require more thinking. Despite what happened to him, Nikko is determined to make the best of it.
And of course this further introduces another aspect to Nikko. He is determined and very stubborn. Although one wouldn't call him "set in his ways," there are some ideals that Nikko will never stray from, no matter how logical it would be. But then, if we've learned anything about Nikko, it's that he isn't logical. Rather feminine in the brain, Nikko is all emotion, with little logic - and that's not a crack at women, either, but a simple fact of nature. Remember earlier, when we learned that he wears is heart on his sleeve? This is it. When he cries, he does it for the world to see. When he's angry, he has no qualms yelling at others who don't deserve it - though he certainly won't become physical. And when he's happy... Well, we've already learned that he likes to yell his feelings to the world.
And even though all of these traits combine to make a rather annoying dog, Nikko is much more than this. He has his shining moments, too(other than his odd insightful mind). Heroic is a fantastic word to describe Nikko. He will put himself at risk, if it means helping another in need. Even if that 'another' is someone who annoys Nikko, he can't help but to help them. Like a little, transparent, doggy superhero, he tries to make sure the evildoers are never able to harm the innocent. Like Robin Hood, he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Nikko almost physically can't turn a blind eye.
But, naturally, he can't be all these things without being a little brash, now can he? Nikko has a hard time feeling like he's worth anything, and because of that, he feels as though he has to show everyone else that he is worth something. This leads to him being a cheeky, impudent individual, who seems to be little more than a trouble-making pup. Nikko commonly - and loudly - proclaims himself to be the best at whatever, and openly challenges anyone to say differently. And he will happily go through the challenge. And if he loses, he continues to try, loudly claiming that, even though he lost, he can still win "next time."
Competitive is often what they call that, and that most certainly is Nikko. He can't stand to lose, even in something that means very little. Do you notice a recurring theme? This little canine can't stand the thought of being second-best, because all he truly wants in the world is to feel like he's actually worth something. Being famous would, at least, make others know and remember his name. This is why Nikko tries so damn hard to beat everyone at everything, even if it is ridiculous. If another beats him, it mentally takes its toll on Nikko's brain, and he almost can't handle it; he lashes out in anger and defiance if it happens.
This leads us to our final trait of little Nikko. He is, ultimately, lonely. All Nikko ever truly wanted in the world was a friend, someone to tell him that it's okay to be who he is; that it's okay to lose sometimes; that he means something to someone. And when he got something close, it ended in disaster.

HISTORY:
MOTHER: "Er, well, I didn't actually know my mom, so..."
FATHER: "Ah, heh... Didn't know my dad, either. But Sage took care of me! Does he count as a father?"
SIBLINGS: "Technically, none. But Yasha and his brother were like siblings to me, I guess."
OFFSPRING: "Well, none. But hopefully some day!"
COMPLETE HISTORY:
Truth be told, Nikko couldn't tell you who his parents were. As far as he knows, he only has a father-figure; someone who cared for him and raised him from puphood. This older male - though only older by a year or so - was a soft-spoken wolf. His name was Sage. Sage acted as a father to Nikko, although the first - and only - time the older male attempted to bring Nikko into his small pack, the dog puppy was shunned. So Nikko was carefully hidden, with Sage often convincing lone, nursing females to stop and allow little Nikko to suckle. Sage was charming in his own way - clumsy, blushing, and stumbling over words - so it was not difficult for him. Besides, very few females could say no to the face of a suckling wolf pup.
When Nikko was weaned, Sage brought him food, again asking for advice and help of experienced mothers. Nikko would often rest beside warm bellies, surrounded by two or three of his kind; pups his age and younger, rarely older. However, as he grew more independent, the mothers started refusing to help, needing to save their energy and time on their own pups, if they were to survive. Naturally, Sage understood this, but it didn't stop him from asking. As the days passed, Sage regurgitated food for the pup, learning this in his pack; this, at least, he could do. Sage also learned how to create bedding to make the pup warm when he couldn't be there. He also spent many hours thinking of new hiding places, to keep Nikko away from predators.
Nikko was still quite young when another family of canines found him. Sage had seemed to materialized next to him the second an adult male took notice. Despite Sage's size compared to the other canine, he bristled and snarled and tried his damnedest to look just frightening enough that the four intruders would pass.
Needless to say, they all gave him a rather confused look. One of the pups, the larger of the two, had stated that they meant no harm. The female, the mother, explained that they were nomads, passing through innocently, and that they were simply looking for a place to rest. That's when they'd noticed a lone pup. Sage calmed, and, embarrassed, apologized profusely. It was then that he had an idea.
"This might be too much to ask," the small wolf began, "but this pup... He's not mine, as you can see. I found him. But my pack won't take him, and my resources are beginning to spread thin. Would you... maybe stay?... For a while, at least?" Sage questioned them, looking at them through hopeful, soft eyes. The four canines looked amongst themselves, and it was the adult male who nodded.
So Nikko had a sort of family, and he reveled in it. He and the youngest of the two pups played constantly. They had mock-fights - which Nikko usually lost - and competed against each other for many things - with Nikko, again, usually losing. But they had fun. Even the older of the two pups would join in, though he won everything, and did it all without seeming to have to try. So Nikko and his newfound friend often refused to play with him. That seemed to suit the older pup just fine, and he was content to lay with their mother and watch the youngsters play the day away.
They were together for months, eating, sleeping, and playing together. But then their mother grew antsy, and their father somewhat irritated. When Sage came around to check on Nikko and the family - as he often did - the canine family explained that they couldn't stay any longer. When Sage asked that they take Nikko, they said they couldn't. Staying in one place, it was fairly easy to divide the food up and have full bellies. But as they were nomadic, it was difficult to keep full bellies; they simply moved too often, traveled too far. It was hard enough, without adding another. Sage politely agreed, and he and Nikko watched as the family disappeared.
By now, however, Sage had little to worry about. Nikko's play had given him a strong instinct toward hunting, and at least his friend had taught him how to be quiet - if only for stalking. Sage continued to dote on the pup, and Nikko let him.
Before long, the Beezer was more than a year old. He stood taller than Sage, though the two weighed about the same by now. He was more than capable of caring for himself and even for Sage. The two spent a great deal of time together, But Nikko felt something hollow in the very core of his being. He missed the family that had stopped to grow with him. He missed his friend, dearly. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was horribly wrong, either. Like he needed to be with his childhood friend, the canine he'd come to view as his sibling. He said his goodbyes to Sage and took off.
Nikko started on their trail, stopping and asking where they'd gone, giving descriptions of each of the four members and practically begging for information. It never came.
The dog has spent up to now on this one task. He feels it's important for him to find his friend, Yasha, as he called him so long ago. His journey has led him to Islara, and he continues to search.
